Quire felt the new paint smell once again disappear and replaced with a sickly decaying smell. He found himself in some sewers. And Quire would be damned if he didn’t find these particular tunnels familiar .It wasn’t until he and the three others with him passed through several turns that Quentin finally got what was bugging him. These were the Morlock tunnels. But they were empty. This must have been soon after the Morlocks agreed to helping start up a life on Krakoa.
“No one is here” Quentin heard Michael saying with his mouth. “But I think I see a trail that will lead us to them.” They then trailed Michael as his many eyes allowed him to follow the invisible track.
Quentin suddenly found himself back in the driver seat of his body. Manifesting an exit Quire stomped out back to Michaels headspace. The new paint smell by now familiar enough not to be noted. Just as he was about to psychically knock out Michaels lights when he noticed a pamphlet laid upon the ground. “How the hell did I manage to not notice the instruction manual to this headcase?” He rolled his eyes and kicked it aside. However when it landed open the title of the chapter was too much to look pass.
The Haller protocol:.
“Haller. David Haller? the profs kid?” Picking it up he read the first few words aloud “’in the event of sighting David Haller all other objectives will lose priority as all attempts of obtaining any genetic media in orde- GUh!” Quires head exploded in pain as everything around him imploded and Quentin found himself looking up at Beast and Professor Xavier discussing his fate. THe thoughts rushing through his mind faster than his synapses could recover from firing off. He felt the thoughts of everyone around him bombard him with psionic energy that only amped up his faster than light brain. Quentin remembered what this was. This was the moment before his secondary mutation spurred by his addiction to Kick effectively killed him. Burning his body up in order to feed the blinding light engulfing his mind. “What if the real enemy... Was inside.. All along.” Then Xorn was over him blathering something too slow for Quire to comprehend it then finally. Bliss nothingness and everything at once. The bigger rooms. The pain was gone and the silence welcoming. Maybe the memory ending will give Quire the focus needed to get out of Michaels head.
Giving it a shot Quentin tried to jump out when Quires head exploded in pain as everything around him imploded and Quentin found himself looking up at Beast and Professor Xavier discussing his fate. The thoughts rushing through his mind faster than his synapses could recover from firing off. He felt the thoughts of everyone around him bombard him with psionic energy that only amped up his faster than light brain.
