Russians killed journalists and civilians in the Donetsk region
Prosecutors are recording new war crimes committed by the army of the aggressor. Prosecutors from the Donetsk Oblast Prosecutor's Office are documenting and investigating further crimes committed by Russian military personnel against the civilian population. On October 20, 2025, in the village of Zvanivka, Bakhmut district, the occupiers killed five civilians. A married couple with two sons were hiding from shelling in the basement of a private house. Russian soldiers broke in and demanded information about Ukrainian defenders. When they did not receive any answers, one of them returned and shot the unarmed people. The father and older son were killed on the spot, while the younger son and two neighbors — a 62-year-old woman and her 30-year-old son — were killed by the occupiers in a neighboring house. The woman, who was wounded in the face, managed to reach territory controlled by Ukraine. Her testimony is further evidence of war crimes committed by the Russian army.

Two years ago on this day russians hit the railway station of the Ukrainian city of Kramatorsk with Tochka-U missiles armed with cluster munitions. The strike killed 61 people (including 7 children) and wounded 121 (including 16 children). Between 1000 and 4000 civilians, mainly women and children, were present at the station awaiting evacuation from the region, which was being subjected to heavy Russian shelling. Victims' bodies were strewn around amid abandoned luggage.
