Právě jsem si zavázal kravatu a myslím si že to je obdivuhodné
Ok, so, thinking about the possible timeline of Phillip and Caleb getting into the demon realm.
We know that Gravesfield was founded in 1635 and we can assume that they were the founders or at least important because it's heavily implied that their crest is the crest of the town and their statues are in the centre.
However, they probably ended up in the demon realm sometime after and I have one clue for it-the neckties. Yes, as someone who is into fashion history and also someone from Croatia, where the necktie originates from, I'm using them as proof!
Ok, so basically during the 30-year-war in France (1618-1648), Croatian mercenaries were involved and they wore traditional, small, knotted neckerchiefs.
This style interested Parisians and the style eventually came to the court where it became popular in the late 1640s and early 1650s, and eventually, it became ubiquitous and started to evolve into the cravat and then the necktie we know today. Even the name "cravat" comes from the word "Croat".
So, if Phillip has a cravat (and both he and Caleb are wearing them in illustrations and in the statue), he had to end up in the demon realm after the 1640s.
This post has no particular point aside from me rambling about my two hyperfixations and one small thing I feel somewhat patriotic about. Or at least I find this a fun fact to share with fellow nerds and geeks.
