“What do you mean he’s been TRANSFERRED?” she demanded from Ondolemar, bringing her closed fists up to the desk and standing up from the stone chair abruptly, shocked and frustrated by the news her superior had brought down.
“It’s only temporary, K’Reezah. He’s our most skilled field agent, and we need him in Morrowind. He’ll be back in three, maybe four months…”
She let out a frustrated hiss, placing her head in her hands and tightly gripping the hair atop her furred head. The fact that Rilundir, her mentor and one of her only friend’s in the Dominion, had been pulled out of her reach without any prior warning created a lot of stress for her. Given she had just recently joined the Dominion, there was still a lot she needed to learn, and being thrown into the hands of someone she probably didn’t even know was not a good way to go about doing it.
Oldolemar impatiently tapped his fingers across the metal-shielded stone table between them, staring disapprovingly at the newest addition under his command. K’Reezah was definitely a step above the rest of the spies that had or did serve in similar positions, both physically and mentally, which also meant she was considerably more difficult to deal with on a personal level. The Khajiit questioned almost everything they did, asking why she was told to do everything in a certain way, or asking how they rationalized certain questionable actions they took, or any other number of questions that seemed to never end.
“Rilundir’s replacement will be coming soon,” he started, K’Reezah’s ears irritably flicking backwards at his use of ‘replacement.’ “His name is Aendir, and he’ll be here within the hour. You are dismissed.”
Without saying a word, the steaming cat stood up and stormed out of the room, absentmindedly scratching above the left cuff of the Thalmor robes she had put on having entered the embassy. Moving too fast around the corner leading out of the room, she bumped into the shoulder of a Justiciar. Hurriedly, she apologized, clearing the non-existent dust off his arm and looking up towards the elf. To her surprise, the Mer in front of her was not one she recognized.
“My apologies, sera...you’re not by chance this ‘Aendir’ that Ondolemar speaks of, are you?”
