Hey the post about ao3s tagging system is false. One of the wranglers for the site reblogged it and cleared it up. It doesn't disrupt the tags and is actually very easy to sift through. Some of the weird ones get so popular they get added officially. I'd send you a link to that version but I'm on mobile.

I actually know about that and should have specified that it doesn't affect the wranglers, but I'm still extremely anti-Tumblr style tags on the AO3 because I agree that Tumblr tags have evolved to be commentary but AO3 tags are supposed to be functional. And as someone who checks the story tags for things that I am interested in or that trigger me, I really fucking hate excessive superfluous tags because it just makes it harder for me to find stories I like. I'm pretty much not gonna read a fic that has more than five superfluous tags. 

Conversational tags on Tumblr, archival tags on AO3.

if you go to settings and look over to where your follower count usually is theres a box labeled dashboard and theres a stetting to turn it off there :)

no i just totally noticed the tiny single pictures. like at first i thought its part of a photoset and i sat there waiting for the rest of it to load cause ya know how my internet is BUT JFC IT TRICKED MY ASS
