The other day I remembered and realised how awesome it was that in Austrian dialect we literally have a verb for 'to smell of garlic'. i.e. "knofeln"
i mean this can only be described as art
rye bread is the best. i live in a country where there is no rye. I mean you can buy some shitty imported rye bread but its nothing like the good stuff. But they simply don't make or import rye or rye flour to make your own :( It's a tragedy
That’s simply a disaster my dear friend :(
Yeah well a linguist could probably make out some relationship, something about the grammar or the cases when you go really deep into it. But there are more old German loanwords like 'leib' literally means loaf in German, as in a loaf of bread. Among others.
Yep :D
Also "persze" in Hungarian means of course and people say it all the time so when my parents were like "yeah of course of course" they'd get really weird stares
Its funny I'm half Hungarian and speak Hungarian, when I lived in estonia I had to learn Estonian but I could not find any similarity whatsoever. Finnish and Estonian are quite similar on the other hand, like Swedish and danish or something.
Well I guess it comes from the fact that Hungarian is Uralic language and Finnish&Estonian are Finnic :D
By patriarchy I dont mean a political system like a democracy or monarchy. It is a system of values. And good for you but I dont live in 'murkah
I’m not American either; i’m British. However, i don’t see why that’s at all relevant.
The dictionary definition of a patriarchy outlines a system whereby succession of power is determined through the male line, and/or where men are “in charge” and women are more-or-less excluded. Your wishy-washy “value” definition does not coincide with the dictionary definition.
And even if i take your point, this is still assuming your view (that society has patriarchal values) is accurate and correct; something which i am deeply skeptical about. Yes, there are many people in the world who are sexist - both men and women - and that is something which should be fixed. It is also true to say that Western society was patriarchal some decades ago. However, to argue that society itself is implicitly against women is a very bold claim... one for which no evidence has been presented.
Please provide objective evidence for your position, or else reconsider your position.
There are NO monkeys in Europe lol never have been
That’s rare, for sure! I’ve always thought monkeys were common everywhere, today was really eye opening tbh!
