He was surprised by the sudden hug, along with the sudden appearance of Krul–but more focused on the former. Her unusually kind, concerned question inquired in a gentle tone immediately put him on guard, wondering what compelled her to act in such a kindred manner.
“I…of course I am, do I look sickly in some way, Krul?” His mind briefly flashed back to when he was severed cleanly in half; perhaps that was it.
