Dear Vector Prime, I won't bore you with another pointless question about who became Cyclonus, bit I do have a question about him: what happened to his look-alike Armada?
Dear Loyal Legionnaire,
You talk of just a single "look-alike". I think an armada of one would not be much of an armada!
No, lacking in creativity as he is, Unicron fed many of Megatron's soldiers into that same mold, transforming them into loyal troops for Galvatron. Their identities were wiped away without a thought, and—after a few short, sharp lessons—were scarcely spoken by the rest of Galvatron's Decepticon army; but knowing how you humans think, I will state their original names for the record: Barrage, Bombshell, Krunix, Lugnut, Life Spark, Ransack, and Skywarp.
Galvatron held no loyalty to Unicron, and after the destruction of Cybertron's moons, he was fully intent on betrayal—and although Unicron coerced him into travelling to Earth to kill Ultra Magnus, those traitorous thoughts remained. Unwilling to fully commit to his master's agenda, and perhaps perceiving a greater capacity for individual thought amongst the armada than amongst the sweeps, Galvatron held those troops in reserve during the second battle for Autobot city, hoping that—if an opportunity arose for him to make a move—their loyalty to him would prove stronger.
In the end, of course, it was not Galvatron who destroyed Unicron. Following his revival, Galvatron considered the armada no less disposable than any others in the Decepticon army, and deployed them in force during the united Decepticon-Quintesson assault on Cybertron. While terrifying in battle, they were paralysed just like everyone else when Galvatron pulled the large switch at the centre of the Quintessons' plot. When Spike destroyed the switch, the armada was slow to recover and was overwhelmed by the Autobots.
Despite Perceptor's careful study, the Autobots were unable to find a way to reverse the reformatting done by Unicron, and the armada was imprisoned on Cybertron indefinitely.
