━ lost in time

Looking at his photographs feels like being stuck with going back in time, but he supposes that is normal, that is how it’s supposed to be like. Something caught in time, immortalized, captured for later remembrance. He supposes that’s why people like to take pictures so much, to remind them of a time that passed, of what has been because nostalgia is an important driving force. People are strange, he supposes. Him even more so, given that he is an instigator that contributes to the time capturing mess.
The gallery is not too big this time around. He only has nineteen pieces this time, not forty-three like last time, and they vary in size, but they don’t take half a wall each either. The gallery curator called it an ‘intimate’ exhibition. Kyungsoo doesn’t think he knows the true word of the word, but doesn’t say a thing. He does those twice a year, this year probably being an exception since he is planning for a third, but only if he finds the right subjects.
Someone took care of the white roses and the greens to go with it. He’s counted five glass vases so far, strategically placed to adorn the room. Between all the black and white, it fits. He picks up a new glass containing a bubbly beverage and watches a waiter go around the guests. The result of ‘don’t worry, everything is settled’ that he heard from the event manager last week seems to be working and all he had to do was coordinate the photograph lineup and the order of display. It’s the first day, so general public is not exactly invited, but Kyungsoo sees a lot of familiar faces that night, some which he hasn’t seen in years but he only stops on his tracks for one. What she is doing there is something that escapes his understanding, but there she is, properly standing and looking at him so there is no denying the eye contact. He doesn’t like the fact that the first thing he thinks is how gorgeous she still looks.
