“All JR’s headcanons are canon.”

ALL of them. Regardless of whether it’s from the highest levels of meta, or bullshit in canon. Those of you who’ve listened to sburbsimyellowyard have seen that. This is frightening to say the least. The implications that someone can just think of something, and in some world, it becomes canon. Being so wired into the omniverse itself. What does this mean for us? For JR’s connection to these sessions? I mean, JR IS the creator of SburbSim, so it makes sense that anything JR thinks of is canon, since we are IN SburbSim. But... what if we could escape this...? Escape SburbSim itself? Beyond the sessions, the games.... What if we could get somewhere new? Then again, this is likely just wishful thinking. But it would be interesting to see.

Unreliable Narrators (and how they’ve fucked me over)

Hey guys. So, you know about the AudioLogs; if you’re following me, you can’t NOT know about the AudioLogs. Well, here’s the thing. I very quickly realized not all of the information there is entirely factual. Because the AudioLogs can take place at different times. They can be proven wrong in a future time. And furthermore, there’s logs from different levels of “canon” of the same character. I believe it’s similar to the thing those who play an RPG game call “metagaming.” Where the player may know something (the person in meta), but the player character (the person in canon) doesn’t know it because they technically haven’t “experienced” it. Soooo not only do we have to deal with time, we have to deal with metaknowledge (or the lack of it.) Figuring out what is real and what is not. IS anything real? I don’t fucking know.  But it means there’s nothing truly CLEAR to us most of the time. Even things we are told in meta, we might not know if it’s true in canon or not. And THIS is why basically any narrator within the Logs is to some degree unreliable, and why it’s SO FUCKING DIFFICULT for me to put together this damn lore. I hope to make things clearer for both myself and others, but there’s no real way for me to be sure that what I’m saying is true, just as I can’t be sure that what anyone else is saying is true.
