swapping the pronunciations of CATAN and KTANE to confuse players of both games
hi. anyone here play keep talking and nobody explodes? well i thought the original manual was nice, but i already have most of the instructions memorized, and some of the tables and graphs could be better organized. so i did that.
i make no guarantees about the accessibility, readability, or overall sanity of this - i was just going for something that looked better to me. :)

just watched this insane 4 hour video:
so, context:
Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes is a game you play with two people. one person, the defuser, has a bomb in front of them. the other person, the expert, has a manual describing how to defuse the bomb. the defuser isn't allowed to look at the manual and the expert isn't allowed to look at the bomb; they're only allowed to communicate via voice call. (the expert doesn't even have to have the game; the manual is a PDF you can look at for free online.)
the bomb consists of modules that each have their own section in the manual for defusing. for example, the "wires" module looks like this:

in the base game, there's a maximum of 11 modules on a single bomb. but the guys in the video were playing a modded version of KTANE. the bomb they were defusing had 236 unique modules.
they had 6 hours of time to defuse the bomb. they were allowed 25 strikes (mistakes when completing modules) but every time you get a strike the time starts counting down faster.
the defuser wasn't playing with one expert, he was playing with two, maybe three. he would give out information on a module to an expert, then come back later after the expert figured out the solution.
one of the modules was called "souvenir" and it consisted of a quiz show asking questions about other modules which had been solved. this thus required the expert team to write down all the information about the modules as they were being solved.
one of the modules asks you to put in tennis match data. one of the modules asks you to put in a mortal kombat combo. one of the modules makes you play with lego. one of the modules has you navigating the london transport system. one of the modules is about skyrim. one of the modules just has you calculate conway's game of life.
there were three modules with a completely blank interface which were indistinguishable visually. one of them had braille highlights when you hovered over them. one of them, you could hear a tapping sound if you selected it. one of them just required you to click on a specific part of it.
one of the modules required you to click on an LED when the bomb's timer reached an exact amount of time remaining. only a handful of times would be acceptable so after the expert calculated the time the defuser had to NOT miss it.
one of the modules had "stages", with the stage advancing every time the defuser completed any other module. every single time the defuser completed a module he had to look at that module and read some information off of it. did i say "one of the modules"? i meant TWO of the modules. one of them gave out three pieces of info per stage and accepted input in the form of a 10 digit code after 100 modules were completed. the other one gave out a number per stage, had one stage for every single module on the bomb meaning it had to be completed LAST, and the code you had to put in was 234 digits long.
one of the modules was a needy module that was just a glass of beer that would slowly drain and needed to be refilled every minute.
