To Katie: It has been a year now since I rediscovered the character, Dave Karofsky and became enamored with his story, and eventually hopeful he would find his happy ending with Kurt Hummel. I soon came across the world of Kurtofsky fan fiction and a community of Pirates who had the same aspirations for these characters as I did. I fell in love with the amazing classic stories created over the years based on these characters until I discovered one special story that I was excited to find out, was still being updated and currently written since 2013. It became one of my favorites and I felt compelled to let the writer know I was a fan and wanted to encourage them to keep writing after all this time. Thus, this was the moment I took a chance and first positively commented on a piece of Kurtofsky fan fiction and received my first ever message back from a writer, ktfrancebee, saying thank you and she became the first person to say Welcome to the Pirate and Kurtofsky fandom. I have been here ever since and she has become one of my favorite Kurtofsky writers. This art piece, thanks to the wonderfully talented artist StarKurt, is a gift to Katie as a token of thanks for being so kind and welcoming to me from the very beginning and to letting her know how much I am still enjoying her story as she continues to update it. Her latest chapter has been my favorite chapter so far and this to me, is the standout scene. I applaud her for the effort she has put into this story and I hope this encourages her to continue and finish what she started. Keep up the great work Katie, we are all rooting for you and thank you for being a shining star as part of this community.
