so some of yall might be confused on the whole san situation that is going on so let me tell yall the tea about what's going on right now!
so san went live and it was after midnight meaning jongho's birthday had pasted... this caused and issue with ktinys for a few reasons. (stupid reasons really)
san didnt post a picture of jongho on his birthday.... which btw yes he did post a picture of jongho on his story but it seems it wasnt enough for them they wanted more.
san said jokingly 'jongho's birthday is now over' the live was past midnight which meant yes jongho's birthday has pasted. san said this as a joke not in a menacing way. san said in his live that he had called jongho because he didnt want him to spend his birthday alone but jongho was already doing something.
mind you the san, jongho, and yunho were together the day before and went out for dinner so i am sure they had a little birthday celebration for jongho during the dinner. ateez members have always stated they do not make birthdays a big deal anymore because they are with each other everyday. since they are together all the time they are always taking care of each other so they dont feel a need to make their birthdays a big deal with each other.
3. san said he doesn't like to say the word 'jollyeo' which means (i'm sleepy) the reason being that in his hometown dialect this is used in a flirting matter. it means (tight) in his dialect like tightness around the neck its a bit of a word play. again this was said in a joking matter of how dialects can make a word mean something different depending on where you are from and the dialect that you use. ktinys said this was inappropriate of san. they also said he had used this word before so they dont get why he is saying he doesnt use the word. but again san was saying this jokingly and wasnt supposed to be taken seriously. (they are taking it up the ass).
4. san's sister calling him oppa. now i am not korean with that being said! san said that his sister calls him 'oppa' in a playful manner while he uses her name. now if you don't know san's sister is older than him making her his 'noona'. san has said many times that he does not call his sister 'noona'. this rubbed ktinys the wrong way finding this disrespectful and were uncomfortable. now i am confused on why they are acting this way because quite a while ago san shared a story in where he had given his sister some pocket money and she had playfully thanked him and called him oppa. so it isnt like the fans didnt know his sister does this in a playful manner. san shared the story to show how close him and his family are with each other.
now i am not korean myself but my friend who is says that while yes it is uncommon to see this it really depends from family to family. each family has a different dynamic and some siblings to joke in this manner.
san came on voice live the day after and had a 21 minute apology live where he apologized multiple times for what he said in the live the day before. he explained he was being playful but it hurt him to see that his words had hurt people. he asked that people use nice words because his parents could see the things that were being written and were being affected by it.
so that is what is going on for those that are confused on the situation. please send lots of love to san. he is currently receiving a lot of hat from ktinys and it is heart breaking to see. the fact that he came on live and was pleading for people to be nice not for his sake but for his parents absolutely breaks my heart. i have seen some of the things that ktinys are saying to san and it is disgusting. many atiny are asking that KQ take action against the hate which san is receiving with an email template being made to send to KQ. so again please send love and encouraging words to san as the hate has not stopped.
