2025 Misano motoGP race – the moment after the chain broke on Pedro Acosta‘s RC16 (riding in 4th position). In total, KTM suffered from 3 of this incidents over the weekend.
Theory: The Misano World Circuit offers plenty of grip and has double curbs the bikes have to pass under big lean angle, gearshifts and activation of the ride height devices – which results in extraordinary stress on the drive trains.
KTM's immediate response for today's test day was a new chain guide (the carbon piece with the 3 supplier logos on it) they installed on the RC16s.
