- beautiful Kirghiz / Kazakh music battle
It is sayed that there was a time, Kirghiz or Kazakh nomad tribes, would organize music improvisation battle between two “champions” instead of a real war. The winner would then bring victory to his camp.
In this beautiful movie extract, from a famous old story, a Kazakh young woman playing dombra will face an older Kirghiz man playing Kumus. In a highly poetic improvised music battle, an invisible dialogue will emerge between them and among the astonnished public, leading to an invisible and inapprehensible love story for the common kind.
Especially at 9:15, the man try to escape the answer by showing off instrumental virtuosity, whereas people stop him and ask him to make a real lyrical answer. Then starts the beautiful music : “Махабат дастаны” also commonly known as : “Куйдум чок”
