Rune stone # Sö 149 - Kungsberga, Runtuna socken
This rune stone is moved from Kungsberga, located southeast of the church. Today it stands next to the Sö 143 at the entrance to the cemetery of Runtuna church. It is very damaged after being used in a fireplace and a chimney, and after that as a stone staircase. A piece of the right side is missing but fortunately there are drawings from the 1600s of the inscription (the missing text is in parentheses below).
*anutr auk kyla þau letu kia(ra bro efti)R kunnr sun sin hialbi kristr has ant ayintr kiarþi bor*
"Anund och Gylla de läto gör(a bro efte)r Gunnar, sin son. Hjälpe Kristus hans ande. Öind gjorde bron"
"Anund and Gylla, they had the bridge made in memory of Gunnar, their son. May Christ help his spirit. Öind made the bridge.
