from the top of my memory, feel free to add and correct, what we know about ace attorney spirit channeling:

- you can only channel one spirit at a time

- the likeliness of the medium changes to look like what the spirit's body looked like

- it's a bloodline inherited ability

- on that topic, it's exclusive to women from that bloodline, but they can also be born without it

- the only reason a strong spirit medium wouldn't be able to reach a spirit, would be if another one was already channeling them (as we see with pearl, maya, mia and dahlia)

- the spirit doesn't remember what happens between death and being channeled for the first time (mia, that monk from khu'rain)

which made me reach the logical conclusion that reincarnation doesn't exist in this universe, for the sole reason of they stating that I put in the fifth -. if that's the only reason, souls can't be reborn, they're all just in that void waiting to be called or to be let rest in peace

I think I don't believe the Holy Mother's religion is real, I guess spirit mediums are a thing but the hells and hierarchy of reincarnation aren't. anyway

AA Superhero AU: Maya

I don’t want to monopolize the tag, I just have a lot of ideas for this AU.

So, here is Phoenix’s Profile

Now Maya: 

Unfortunately she doesn’t have a superhero outfit, so I gave her some casual clothes, and her work clothes.

Name: Maya Fey

Superhero name: Master of Kurain (she’s not a superhero, but this will be her official title in the future, and its the closest thing)

Superpowers: The same as in canon. I got pretty creative with the death powers of the Fey Family (I will make a post about the Feys in general, probably), but Maya and her mother have the same power as in canon: channelling a spirit in their body. It’s traditional in the Fey Family, and pretty strong, but she still can’t control it much, and sometimes the person gets the control of the body, something that it’s not supposed to happen, since Maya should always be in control, in some way (in this AU).

Type of power: Active-evident (can’t be used in court as evidence, though. Not after DL-6, but that’s another story)

More headcanons under the cut: 

Backstory: Her family is a really old and powerful family of superhumans, and almost all of their powers are related to death in some way. She was born in Kurain, a place with great traditions, and she was the daughter of the Master of Kurain. After the DL-6 incident, her mother disappeared as in canon, and Maya and her sister Mia were constantly mistreated by their aunt Morgan. 

When Mia became old enough, she went away from the village, not wanting to be part of the Fey clan anymore, and Maya followed her, still respecting her roots, but wanting to become her own person. She lives with Mia in a tiny apartment, and she works part time as a waitress in a superhero-themed café. She loves superheroes, especially the Steel Samurai (he’s real and a superhero in this AU).

Maya meets Phoenix way before canon, through Mia, and they become fast friends, almost siblings. She’s one of the few people that knows about his resurrection powers, and she will become his sidekick boss whe he’ll start as a superhero in the future.

Trivia: She has a lot of hobbies, but nothing sticks to her, except her love for superhero things. She will become the greatest fangirl of Water Whip (guess who?). But she bullies Firebird on a daily basis.

She has no intention of becoming Master of Kurain, because she doesn’t feel welcome there, and she’d rather be happy somewhere else. Still, she feels like she needs a sort of closure, and she’s conflicted about her role.

Once, she tried to summon Phoenix as a joke, and she accidentally killed him. They never talk about that.

Maya: I’m gonna create a superhero outfit that is so cheap!

Phoenix: Good, I’m broke
