So I was thinking about how to un-bore the (very easily bored) cat, and was looking at those so-called "activating" toys on a pet shop's webpage. And I found this thing--a lump of plastic with a set of tubes stuck into it, into which you can put treats and set your cat a-hunting.

But I looked at the cardboard boxes and packing foam I had lying about, then at some toilet roll empties I was just about to bin and thought,

"Fuck it."

That's right. We're going to be activating the cat on a 70s BBC sci-fi budget.

I am glad to report the experiment was a success.

I wonder if she's just a) sleepy or b) getting high on the aroma lamp's vapours (ginger today, as I was feeling nauseous, with some rose left over from yesterday's diffusions). At least it's not toxic to cats, and might actually calm the furry little poltergeist.

A box is a box, no matter how small. This was just the sleeve of one of those pretzel-shaped lightbulbs. Doli was mortified by the idea of it having remained un-sat on since the afternoon and is now guarding it fiercely with her bum.

You've seen cats use their tails as woolly scarves to warm their noses; now, get ready for Dolores using hers as a) a muff and b) as a pillow.

I know this may shock you all, but the creampuff-ruff is actually looking happy while dozing for once.
