Now we’re the same age again haha, we are getting old, but as long as I can cheer on him, I’m satisfied ^^ It has been a awful year for my mental an physical health (no covid related btw), I had relatives with covid though, and it has been tough in general, but anyway, I’m here to talk about the man I still admire, even if I’m not here on the internet everytime. I learned I don’t have to stay active all the time or have all the merch or do everythig related to him to be his fan and that made me realize I’m more happy to be by his side for all these years and appreciate what I have <3 (Well, being sick has been a lot of learning too lol)
I hope this new year for him will be full of new projects now he is a freelance and I hope all his fans continue supporting him <3
Since I’ve been away, I have something for Tsubasa’s fans. I know I have to reply several messages and you are going to have your answer this week in an automatic message with the link of the stuff you asked for (if you followed the rules of course), so this time I’m gonna share with you the two Kurogarasu movies in which Tsubasa was the main and badass character haha. The rules are the usual and this time the movies are watermarked, but they don’t interfere with the the movie, so don’t worry. It’s just me worrying about people who still don’t read ^^

This is the opening scene from “Kurogarasu” Part 1 that was released last year ♥ Since I’ve watched the movies so many times since I got them, I decided to share the short opening scene with some English subs. Apologies if I have made any mistakes, it has been a long while since I’ve subbed anything, and I wanted to work on my skills a little bit whilst working on my current subbing project with my subbing partner xD

With both the movie Kurogarasu Part 1 & 2 being released tomorrow (June 26th), I am posting Sakiyama Tsubasa’s bromides for both movies as a way to celebrate! :D These are the bromides (top 3 - part 1, bottom 3 - part 2) that you could purchase when seeing the movie’s at the theatre ♥

[Interview & Photos] 2.5D Actor Sakiyama Tsubasa. The goal is "Taiga Drama". A slow debut doesn't matter.
For some reason, I ended up translating the whole interview when I wanted to make a summary haha. You can find more under the cut~ Of course, keep in mind my translations are far from being great, everything is for fun.

Including his role as Ishikirimaru from the musical "Touken Ranbu", Sakiyama Tsubasa, who is active as a 2.5D actor, will release his first starring role in the 2-part movie "Kurogarasu". Although Sakiyama had a soft image so far, in this film he plays a man who runs a "problem-solving" office in Kabukicho, Shinjuku, carrying a dangerous charm. Sakiyama talked about his challenges from this work and his thoughts about a "slow start".
When the main character of the movie was decided "I was very happy", said Sakiyama smiling. "Being in a movie was a dream but also a goal and it was a responsibility to stand in the middle of it, but I was geniunely happy" he said, but with the stage being in the underground, there were a lot of preparations in advance.
"It was a world I didn't know at all. On the other hand, I thought there were many things to research. While looking at past works like "Yamikin Ushijima-kun", "Shinjuku Swan" and "Yamikin Dogs" to check things such as the atmosphere and the view of the world, "Kurogarasu" is another and completely original work, so I tried to explore how express myself there".
The main character, Kuroto, appears as a cool and mysterious man. It's different from Sakiyama's image, but he said there is a part similar to him. "The means Kuroto chooses are outrageous and he proceeds without changing the complexion. But just because he doesn't show much, it means he doesn't have a lot of things on his mind. I also have a fighting spirit and a strong sense of ambition. I just don't show it too much. So, even though Kuroto seems different from me on the outside, on the inside we are quite similar".
Sakiyama, who is gonna be 30 years old this year, started his stage acting career in 2014. Although it wasn't an early start, it's possible to see the passion, usually hidden, in his daily work as an actor.
"In the past, there was a time when I was worried about my age or have started late. But now I think it's irrelevant if there is something in my hand and I want to experience it, so if you find what you want to do, it doesn't matter when to start. However, if you spend time thinking about the role in a work, including the time to read a line, doing the same as everyone, you won't be match against those who started early. That's why I think it's natural for me to make a double effort.
"I want to challenge various roles without assuming it's a stage image" Sakiyama said. "I think starring a movie was a vision and starring a stage play is definitely a challenge”. That vision was successfully fulfilled with the movie "Kurogarasu" and the stage play "Bakumatsu Taiyoden Gaiden" in April. And as a concrete goal for the future, he stated "I woud like to appear in a Taiga Drama".
And finally, a message "For those who have seen me so far, I think you will be able to feel the freshness. I also feel myself that way. If you know me for the first time, I hope you enjoy this work that makes you think what is right, what is wrong and what is justice. And if you are interested in the 2.5D world where I have grown up, it would be nice if this work created a synergy between the stage and the movie".
