               THE  COMMS       from  mandalore ,  from      satine     ,  no  less ,  had  taken  them  all  by  surprise .  when  she  mentioned  a  potentially      FORCE  SENSITIVE      nephew ,  there’d  been  a  quiet  moment  of  consideration ,  qui - gon  unable  to  help  a  glance  at  his  former  padawan’s  reaction .  qui - gon  had  agreed  to  go .  he  had  a  good  relationship  with  the  duchess .  the  unsaid  part  was  he  had  a      safer      relationship  with  the  duchess . 

              what  he  was  unprepared  for ,  however ,  was  the      SIGHT      of  korkie .  it  almost  makes  him  stumble ,  a  moment  of  shock  as  for  the  briefest  instant  he  thinks   he’s  looking  at  a  vision  of  a  young  obi - wan ,  just  before  the  boy  had  become  his padawan .  oh .      oh  dear     .  slowly ,  he  goes  down  to  meet  the  boy  on  his  level .

              ❝    hello ,  korkie .   my  name  is  qui - gon  jinn .  how  old  are  you ?    ❞

         HE’D  RECOGNIZED      him  .      of   course   he   had     .   he   could   not   have   forgotten   korkie’s   face  ,   even   if   it   has      GROWN     ,   matured  .   but   he   hadn’t   expected   to   see   that   face   here   on   tatooine  ,   in   the   middle   of   mos   espa  ,   with   the   threat   of      stormtroopers      directly   outside  . 

        ❝    there   is   always   somewhere   to   go  ,    ❞   he   whispers   back  ,   anakin’s   voice    ringing   briefly   in   his   skull  ,   even   after   all   these   years  .   ❝    follow   my   lead  ,   yes  ?    ❞

Felt like showing this first since I like how done Kurshi looks. Seems like someone knocked a box overboard again he has to go retrieve it.

Have to color the rest of the doodles later. The sheet is just me brainstorming his body build and some other features before I get serious.

he was a soldier, yes, but before that cassian was a survivor. always had been, always would be. and sometimes survival meant not standing out, it was about blending into the world around him knowing when and where to move. it was not always a lesson that could be taught, it was a lesson to be learned in life, through actions. and he had learned it well. but he did not know if the man beside him had. 

and if it turned out that the answer was no, it would spell disaster for both of them before too long. and as willing as cassian was to kill and die for a cause now, he was not ready to do it just yet. 

“with respect, how much training do you have in being subtle? infiltration that does not involve shooting your way in?” and hopefully not out, though he is less fussed about that issue.

      Long  fingers  lace  primly  as  sly,  vigilant  eyes  trace  the  silhouette  of  his  unknowing  client.    ❛  My,  my,  you  are  far  more  impressive  in  real  life.  ❜    He  drawls  cooly,  the  mask  of  apathy  cracked  by  a  sliver  of  impish  curiosity.    ❛  Hopefully  just  as  efficient.  ❜    A  subtle  smirk  colors  his  lips  a  the  ring  of  @kurshi​’s  voice,                   ❛  how  did  you  find  me?  ❜      

The  senator  tilts  his  head  ever  slightly,  closing  the  gap  between  them  with  every  graceful  step.  He  is  cautious  enough  to  keep  a  fair  distance  between  himself  and  his  prospect,  ever  aware  of  the  mandalorain’s  peculiar  skillset.      ❛  It  was  quite  easy,  honestly.  ❜    Silk  clad  shoulders  roll  nonchalantly.    ❛  It  is  a  wonder  what  one  can  do  with  just  a  minimal  knowledge  of  commercial  surveillance  cameras.  ❜    Perhaps  that  was  not  entirely  true.  Hux  had  been  blessed  with  an  inherent  intelligence  for  a  variety  of  technological  outlooks.  One  did  not  graduate  top  of  their  class  without  ceaseless  diligence  and  dedication  to  their  craft.  But  those  skills  had  become  merely  supplementary  within  his  new  political  venture.    ❛  Fear  not,  I  have  disabled  the  cameras  in  this  vicinity.  You  may  speak  freely.  ❜

Why  was  Korkie  telling  him  this?

Why  did  anyone  tell  him  any  of  the  things  they  did,  really?

"Korkie,"  Din  started  with  what  he  thought  was  an  amazing  amount  of  patience  given  the  circumstances,  pushing  a  drink  closer  to  the  other.  "You're  in  a  bar.  You  can  probably  find  someone  to  cuddle  you."  

And  likely  do  more  than  cuddle,  but  Din  wasn't  going  to  voluntarily  start  that  conversation.  He'd  already  had  a  similar  conversation  that  day  which  put  him  over  his  limit  of  listening  to  men  vent  about  being  alone  either  in  life  or  in  bed  (or  both)  and  why  did  people  talk  to  him  about  their  problems  again?  And  how  did  he  get  them  to  stop?  

"Maybe  you  should  invest  in  a  weighted  blanket.  I  hear  they  feel  like  a  hug."  Or  that  the  pressure  activated  the  same  response  as  a  hug,  but  close  enough,  right?

“Go  talk  to  someone  else,  maybe  it  will  work  out.”  It  better,  because  Din  unfortunately  knew  who  would  be  listening  to  Korkie  if  it  didn’t.
