If you pre-run for the upcoming #Baja1000 keep in mind that today is a federal holiday, Mexico’s Revolution Day (Dia de la Revolucion). Revolution Day is a public holiday. It is a day off for the general population, and schools and most businesses are closed. Also a reminder: a couple of days ago it was 6 years (15th of November 2013) since we lost Kurt Caselli during the 2013 Baja 1000! One of the finest guys you could possible meet and a blazing fast offroad racer.

Off-road motorcycle racing legend, Kurt Caselli, was a rider who won’t soon be forgotten. After a tragic accident while racing in the Baja 1000 in 2013, Caselli left the world all too soon.

Together with KTM and Red Bull Media House, Roland Sands customized a 450 KTM motocross bike to honor Caselli’s influence on riders worldwide to be auctioned off with proceeds benefitting the Kurt Caselli Foundation.

November 15, 2013 CASELLI Kurt Caselli was an American off-road motorcycle racer. On November 15, 2013 he crashed while competing in The Baja 1000 (a race in Baja California, Mexico) after colliding with a large animal at high speed. He didn't receive immediate medical help and died at the site from internal injuries. He was 30 years old.

Custom Kurt Caselli Foundation KTM 450

Over the past 40-50 years the design of off-road motorcycles has changed significantly, they have become more specialized and lost vintage style. These enthusiasts, of course, remember and love off-road classics, including Roland Sands, who built a custom class based on the KTM 450 SX-F, to honor the memory of the great motorcycle racer Kurt Caselli.
