People do NOT talk enough about Scott Hunter and Kip Grady. I see so much about Ilya and Shane, which is fair because they’re the main ship of the show, but Scott and Kip are my unproblematic KINGS.

After watching the TADC finale, I still do not view Jax as transfem. I am trans myself, and I do think that transfem is a totally valid reading of Jax’s character, but so are many other queer identities. It is simply not a reading I would choose to interact with.
I don’t have this same reading largely due to the amount of negative stereotypes about trans women that Jax would be perpetuating, especially that they are violent towards women (shown through Jax’s aggression toward Ragatha and Gangle). But also because the characters and show still refer to Jax using he/him pronouns. I know that pronouns do not equal gender, but in mainstream media depictions (and yes, I am calling TADC mainstream, it got a theatrical release) it seems to.
More so, a lot of Goose’s depictions of Jax in association to femininity are just kind of… weird? Like in the recent Bluesky sketch (which some people are taking as confirmation that Jax is transfem, I thought it was common knowledge in fandom that once a series has ended, we don't take a creator's post-series statements as canon...? Even then, Goose also said she left it ambiguous on purpose…..), Jax is thinking about Pomni and Ribbit fucking. The maid dress scene is… well, it’s known that Goose has a thing for forcefem. Goose keeps reposting suggestive art of Jax in the feathery outfit from The One Whose Running The Show on Twitter. It all just feels really fetishistic.
I don’t hate the reading, but I certainly don’t like it either. I do think Jax has a lot of queer and trans coding, but does not explicitly need to be read as transfem. I personally read Jax as gay and/or genderfluid. Though, I can admit the gay part mostly comes from my own struggles with femininity as a gay man. Personal experiences shape how we interact with the media we consume, and not everyone is required to have the same reading as me or you or anyone else.

MY DAUGHTERS LOVE ME AND I LOVE THEM!!!
I’m getting ready to watch TADC episode 7. If anything happens to Jax I’m gonna go crazy.
