⤷ At first, you think he's a dork (because he is, but not in a bad way). All your life, you've had to hide how much you love Star Wars, how the trade paperback Star Trek Next Generation books were your favorite thing to buy with your birthday money.

⤷ You grew up poor. You hate that Kutner doesn't have piles of student loan debt, that he can proudly boast about his rare collectibles and expensive hobbies, and drives a nice car. As far as you're concerned, he's always had it easy. Until one night after work, the team goes out for drinks, and you find out his biological parents were shot in front of him. From then on, you decide to give him a chance beyond first impressions.

⤷ You're friends first. It happens one day when you understand one of his jokes, a quick reference to the classic Dr. Who's initial TV run. As you run labs for House, you compare the old with the new, and a couple of weeks later, you spend your day off roaming around all the comic book stores in the Princeton area. When your card declines, he pays.

⤷ You kiss him first. On impulse. It happens after you're settling a patient in for an MRI, a scared teenage boy, and Kutner talks to him about Star Wars to keep him calm to run the tests. His softness makes you melt, and you can't help it. He doesn't react at first, but when he finally kisses you back, you wonder why you didn't make your move sooner.

⤷ In bed, he's a generous lover and a total munch. You have to pull his head out from between your legs, because he's happily smothering himself down there. When he tells you to sit on his face, he means SIT.

⤷ House takes forever to figure it out, and it isn't until he hires a PI to tail Wilson that he finds out you two are together. After that, you go public with your relationship and even meet his parents. He calls you hon, you call him lover boy. It's cheesy, but perfect.

⤷ And when he dies, you blame yourself. You can't help it. How could you not see your boyfriend suffering? How did you miss his depression? Both you and House go down the rabbit hole of trying to explain what can't be solved. When you finally give up, it's House who puts his hand on your shoulder and says, "It wasn't your fault. Anyone with eyes could see how much he loved you. He wouldn't want you to beat yourself up."

This was so fun, reader. Thank you!! I'm currently rewatching House for the third time this year and on season five. Now I'll be extra sad when *it* happens.
