Keeping Up With The Uzumakis, Episode 0: Happy Birthday Boruto
important info | official first episode
Some Housekeeping.
As we approach the release of the first officially canon installment of Keeping Up With The Uzumakis, our team would like to clarify some information about the canon status of the much beloved pilot, Happy Birthday Boruto, and what the story will look like going forward. These notes are as follows.
As per our last press release, Happy Birthday Boruto is no longer canon, meaning it did not canonically happen in the official KUWTU timeline. However, it is still necessary reading to understand and fully enjoy the KUWTU story. To be more specific, much like the villagers in Konoha were not legally permitted to tell Naruto about his status as the Nine Tails Jinchuuriki, villagers of the modern KUWTU era are not legally permitted to tell the new generation the truth about Sasuke's activities during the war. Hence, this is a subject much shrouded in mystery; only people alive during the war are aware of his murky past, and a select few know what truly happened on the fateful night of the Uchiha Massacre. Sasuke's past is a source of curiosity, most notably for his daughter, Uchiha Sarada.
Despite this rather significant change, the relationships and attitudes established in Happy Birthday Boruto remain critical to understanding KUWTU going forward. Happy Birthday Boruto's noncanon status does not make it optional reading.
The final piece of additional information necessary to enjoy KUWTU to it's fullest is that Sasuke left Sakura and Sarada within two years of Sarada's birth. He has been gone for 10 years, and at the story's beginning, he has been back in Konoha semi-permanently for about four months. Inojin does NOT know about the affair.
Lastly, KUWTU posts will henceforth be organized in two separate tags: #keeping up with the uzumakis will be used solely for the main story and press releases which are critical to following the story. #kuwtuwc (Keeping Up With The Uzumakis: With Cheese) will be used for extra content and discussion.
Thank you for sticking with us during this transition.
As a reminder, Episode 0 can be read here.
PSA for KUWTU enjoyers across the globe.
As some of you may be aware, we are nearing the 1 year anniversary of Keeping Up With The Uzumakis Episode 0, Happy Birthday Boruto. At its conception, this episode was dubbed "episode 0" primarily because it is placed before Boruto has become a genin, ie, before the main events of Boruto (and KUWTU, by proxy) take place.
However, in light of new information that has surfaced since our team has become more familiar with Boruto as a story, as well as new creative developments in the months since the original installment, Episode 0 is, from this moment onward, officially to be considered a Pilot Episode.
We sincerely apologize to any fans of the series who may be disappointed by the continuity changes that this decision may result in. Most notably, it has come to our attention that in Boruto canon, the new generation is unaware of Sasuke's history. In Episode 0 on the other hand, comments from Boruto and Sarada such as "I'll be sure not to join any evil organizations" suggest that they are at least somewhat aware of how Sasuke spent his teenage years. Regardless, with the new information from the original series in mind, our creative team has determined that it is much funnier if the new generation is unaware, and this is the assumption that KUWTU will be operating under henceforth.
Thank you for your understanding during this transition.
1 + sasuhina omg
when I started shipping it if I did: i just??? its been a couple of years. i think i read a SasuHina business AU where they were in an arranged marriage and that was it for me.my thoughts: i LOVE THEM. So much?? i just. love SasuHina. i love it.What makes me happy about them: just. them. I literally firmly believe Hinata wouldn’t put up with Sasuke when he got all angsty and avenger mode and shit. and Sasuke would be gentle, but not coddling, with Hinata. and they balance each other out so much, like. a deep level of complimenting each other at heart. What makes me sad about them: they never interacted in canonthings done in fanfic that annoys me: i haven’t read enough SasuHina to be annoyedthings I look for in fanfic: as long as it’s IC SasuHina and well written, i’m sold. (i do love business AUs tho)Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: SasuNaru, KibaHina, ShinoHina, SasuShikaMy happily ever after for them: The Keeping Up With the Uchihas AU we made is literally my SasuHina happy ending. down to Obama “Bambi” Uchiha and Sasuke punching 2 yr old Minato in the face for some god awful reasonwho is the big spoon/little spoon: Sasuke/Hinata respectivelywhat is their favorite non-sexual activity: Hinata likes when they clean together and take relaxing baths together. Sasuke likes doing the grocery shopping together and going for walks in the park. they do all of those and more obvs, those are just the faves
