i feel like i owe to those who waited an apology and an explanation

y’all might know me for translating stuff regarding ouma kokichi from ndrv3 weeks after its release (links of my translations is in here, if you don’t remember)

it’s been six months since i mentioned about my future plans for translating stuff regarding ndrv3, but obviously that never went through

i could juggle the time between university and translating, that was for sure, but uh haha it feels weird talking about it but

some of you might not know i have a heart disease; there were times when i tried to open my drafts but never went through because there’s literally a pain inside my chest and felt like dying; so obviously that sucks and it has consumed the supposed free time i allotted for translations lol gg

i’m really glad someone did pick up what i was supposed to translate? kudos to @oumakokichi and their translations, specifically on said transcription that i was supposed to translate (also this is my blatant and shameless way of saying holy shit i love your metas and analyses!!! keep up the good work!!!) they did a very good job at that and also the parts that i did get to translate somewhat resembles theirs so i’m kinda relieved i got my version of translation right LOL

so leaves the ultimate question though: am i going to continue translating? well... not for ndrv3, not because i’m still sick (i’m doing better!) but because i feel... accomplished already with what i have contributed to the fandom. translating for ndrv3 has always been a really fun blast especially at that time when we had to deal with false spoilers and the ouma hate LOL debunking those esp regarding ouma was a really great moment!! i’ll never forget these experiences :)

i do still want to translate more in the future - ndrv3 was a great start at my making as a translator, but it’s time for me to go explore what else can be translated :)

future ndrv3 translation plans

first of all, i’m really glad that most of the feedback i’ve gotten from my three translations (which you can check it out here, here, and here) were positive! it really means a lot to me that people enjoy and even use my translations as references for their fanfic inspiration as well as their metas and analyses. 

it wouldn’t be possible though if it weren’t for a few friends! thank you tim for the help in transcribing, and choco for turning m super lame ass translations into such wonderful ones!

also, although most on-the-spot translators (the ones who stream and then talk as they play) already reached those parts, i’d still continue translating, as i know many people still prefer well-thought-out translations. even so, i’d still use their translations for understanding the context a little bit better, as well as making my work relatively faster. that is, if university’s not going to be a bitch about it.

  for my next project, i’m most likely going to work on ndrv3 chapter 5 pre-execution dialogue (yes, that’s about fifteen to twenty minutes, depending on how much I want to do it) as well as some small tidbits that i might find or you guys request - most likely the love hotel scenes.

introduction

Due to sudden influx of followers, maybe I should introduce myself?

My name is David/KZ, and I recently revived my Tumblr after like, how many months? Probably been a year?

I figured I should use this account again after translating a few lines from Danganronpa V3. Since people don’t have access to quality text-to-text translations (and the latest streams that translate are still in Chapter 1? Chapter 2?), and although I’m not the best translator around, I’ll try my best to at least contribute good translations of a few tidbits from the game itself!

That aside, I’m also a big fan of Haikyuu!!, idol games (especially Ensemble Stars) and DMM’s games (TKRB and BunAl).

Anyway, I won’t be very active, save for my translations and a few queued reblogs, but I’m much more active at Twitter! Feel free to talk to me there!

A sad truth.

Some of you may have noticed this but to straighten up the facts - I am in fact no longer actively using Tumblr.

Ever since I’ve been using this platform in 2010, it has been my home, my escape. I never knew it would be just as toxic as the years would pass by.

I know that someday this would change. I know that someday the community would learn its lesson. After all, the only constant thing in this world is change. Who knows, it may be the home I knew after the years.

This blog would still serve its purpose - I will still queue a number of posts but that’s it. No live blogging from me. From now on, consider this an archive of my aesthetic, an archive of my life, an archive of who I am.

In short, no, this blog will not be dead. But most of my communication here will be. 

I will reblog this from time to time until the day comes when I return.
