Five Ws with Water Liars

As you hopefully already know, Water Liars plays tonight at Caledonia with Duquette Johnston, Dana Swimmer and k (v) i d s. Water Liars (MS) is quite possibly the most refreshing act to come out of the South in recent years. The band's latest album, Wyoming, has been on repeat around AP HQ.  Duquette is one of Birmingham, AL's brightest luminaries. Dana Swimmer and k (v) i d s are two young bands making waves in the local community in totally different ways. In short, this is an exciting and diverse bill that you should not miss. All for the paltry sum of $5. k (v) i d s starts at 10PM, so don't be late.

Athens Provisions: Who drives the most on tour?

WL: Justin does all the driving.

AP: What's your favorite record of 2013 thus far?

WL: We don't have one for 2013 yet. We've been listening to a lot of old stuff.

AP: When did y'all start playing together?

WL: We started playing together when we made our first record in 2011.

AP: Where is the best place to eat in Oxford?

WL: Big Bad Breakfast. AP: Why Water Liars?

The name comes from a short story by the Mississippi writer Barry Hannah. "Water Liars" is the title of the first story in his book Airships and it's great stuff.
