A few months ago I found tickets online for a pet exposition that was occurring locally. Loving animals I ended up buying the tickets, but as I was doing so I did a bit of research on the event as well, during which time I learned that they were still looking for volunteers. Thinking it would be something interesting I sent in an application to volunteer at the event. I ended up getting accepted and assigned, and that brings us to today! Although it was not an overly exciting position that I was assigned to, I did get to meet some new people, and witness a couple of talks and demonstrations. While doing some walking around I also got to meet vendors and learn some new information regarding both my pets, and pet services available in the region. It was a really interesting and well planned event and I look forward to possibly volunteering again next year. Today’s random act of kindness: volunteering your time for something you have interest/believe in.

In a few months there is a pet exposition coming to town and after searching through their website I noticed they are looking for volunteers. Being an animal lover, and pet owner I thought that this opportunity would be quite interesting. So tonight I downloaded, filled out, and submitted the volunteer application form. Now I just have to wait to hear back if and how I will be helping bring this event to life. Today’s random act of kindness: volunteering your time for something you have interest/believe in.

I think these small expos are great community events. They provide a central resource where people can get information on a specific topic, in this case animals and pets. Another positive bonus is that local vendors have the opportunity to promote their private businesses, and those of the community have the opportunity to learn about and support them in return.
