powerlifting update 12/28/18
It’s been a month since I’ve decided I wanted to do a powerlifting meet in 2019/2020.
Training’s been going pretty well. Hit a couple of small issues but I’ve slowly began to fix it.
1st issue - back rounding out during deadlifts. Not keeping my back straight enough. Positioning of the bar to my knees, feet & shoulders/chest is off. Being too cautious when moving the barbell back down.
2nd issue - hip rotation on right side. knees moving inwards when squatting rather than following the direction feet are pointing:
3rd issue - form on bench is off, not keeping back/shoulders stabilized enough. feet isn’t completely flat on floor. knees/legs move when someone hits it to make sure I’m stabilized / doing the correct form.
4th issue - mind to body connection needs work
5th issue - left side is weaker for arms, right side weaker for legs.
other than that; everything’s been great. realized my issues, slowly started to fix it. implemented new exercises and different things such as resistance bands to help fix the problems I’m having. I’m gonna start looking for a coach soon too! My eating habits could still use some work but it’s gotten a lot better. I’m not eating as much “bad foods” & been eating at home a lot, plus I’m not binging or restricting too much. Although, I do forget to eat sometimes until super late in the day. I’ve been maintaining my current weight while continue to gain muscle mass/strength (‘:
I’m pretty excited about this decision I’ve made, I haven’t been this serious about anything in a long time.
