The man in front of him has every right to be warry and he deserves more than an apology... But an apology is all Obito can do right now. Brows knitted, Obito looks down to his feet. “It’s been five years since the war, I wondered when I’d stumble onto you... No one deserves to go through what I made you go through..” He looks up then, it wouldn’t be a proper apology if Obito couldn’t look at Yamato in the eyes.
“I apologize... I know I can’t atone for the things I did but if you need help on something I can do within the village... I’ll gladly do it.” Like errands, things civilians can do. Still, looking back, it’s a wonder how little Obito has heard of Yamato. Kakashi barely mentions him and they were on the same squad. Plus, he has the mokuton, that’s impressive in itself. Perhaps the man prefers discretion... Or is he not appreciated? The lack of rescue effort he constated during the war will trouble the back of his mind for a while unless he gets an answer.

“Kakashi, please, it’s Yamato now.”
Old habits die hard he figures.
Maybe Yamato is naïve, not ever growing up with a family. His life has been anything but typical, in a way, he sort of craves something regular, something mundane. Yet, happy. How to go about that is a whole other question.
That’s how he was soft hearted maybe, more trusting and open. Kakashi was an incredibly difficult person. Cool and aloof on the surface, but hardly easy to know. Kakashi’s distance could at times, be aggravating. Quirky was an understatement.
“Sure, sure,” Yamato really couldn’t imagine Kakashi hunting for a relationship.
“I wouldn’t use the word looking,” he stammers, now feeling put on the spot. Love in fact, does sound nice, as shallow as that sounds. Just, nice. It’s not like he has a whole lot of experience in that department, but going about it in a very pointed way escapes him. Could you really imagine him hitting on some pretty woman in the street? Hardly not.
But if some sort of soft soul were to appear and capture his heart before he even realized it…well. Jeez, that sounds real idealistic doesn’t it? A fairy tale basically. He’s not even that great at talking to people.
“I am not closed off, so to speak.”
He sighed.
“I know…I like Tenzō better though and no one else is around” Kakashi replied. He had not forgotten that it was Yamato now. He would be a damned shitty shinobi if he was that forgetful with aliases. So it was by choice which did not actually make it any better.
“I did not realize you are that bashful” he said. He just enjoyed teasing him.
“Now did you prepare yourself then and finally read the Icha Icha Paradise series?” he asked, looking expectantly at the younger man.
“I mean it is written by one of the great sannin…so there must be wisdom in it ne?” Well not really. He really was not certain if any of these 3 could be considered wise. Jiraiya had his moments though.
“Also I could be your wingman.”

It takes Anko a moment to register his words, but when she does, a huge grin breaks out onto her face. Good ol’ Yamato. You could always rely on him to cheer you up or make you laugh from being a weirdo— Or both, like right now. That loud declaration of her not reaching hag-status or not not-hot was definitely a bit weird. And funny. And what made Yamato, Yamato. It was kinda charming.
“Heh, thanks, Yamato.” Anko finally replies after having perked up a bit from his words. “You really know how to cheer a gal up.”
Her hand then dives into the little bowl of salted mixed the bartender had provided them with. Anko had actively been avoiding the walnuts, knowing her companion was fond of them. Another one of his strange yet endearing quirks— Loving walnuts. She munches thoughtfully (and loudly).
“Yanno, you’re definitely not not-hot, too. You make the weird factor work— Not alotta people can do that.”

The party had been raging for a while, loud music becoming quieter as party goers began to filter out. Momo had seen Yamato a few times but hadn’t had much time with him. It was her party after all, though she didn’t really know anyone there all that well. She’d only been in Konoha for two months, hardly any time to become close with that many people, but she was having so much fun! She had all these new friends and the bar they were in was really cool and even let them throw up some White Day themed decorations for it.
Momo was having so much fun that perhaps she went too far with the alcohol, which wasn’t all that far really with her low tolerance for alcohol, but she found herself feeling so tired as the party was wearing down. People were leaving in a steady stream now and the blonde had promised to leave the tab open and settle the rest of the bill in the morning so there was really only one thing left to do, find the person she really wanted to go home with at the end of the night.
“Yamato~” Her voice rang out like a bell as she collapsed in the seat beside him, leaning against his arm. Perhaps it was a bit touchy for keeping things private but Momo was a bit touchy in general and she was certainly drunk. Her hair had halfway fallen down and her dress was inching up perhaps a bit too far without her notice. “You’re such a sweetie for hanging around for me.” Parties were not his thing. It didn’t take much to figure that out. The poor sweet thing was a bit quiet for that but he’d come anyways. It was so thoughtful of him to be there for her even if it wasn’t his favorite way to celebrate. “Do you wanna go? You can take me home. My feet are so pinchy in these shoes.”
