House Speaker Greg Stumbo, who proposed the new map, argued that the map he favors simply “brings geographic and common sense” to the state’s six congressional districts. While the plan would have little impact on Jefferson County, people in large counties such as Boyd, Daviess, Shelby and Jessamine would be switched to a new congressional district. And seven counties would be split between two districts — Bullitt, Jessamine, Jefferson, Allen, Whitley, Pulaski and Scott.
