Statement

Serving as a platform to scrutinize one’s mortality and the pointlessness of life, Kyle Kogut’s work explores existential philosophies and the indifference of nature. Contemplating the futility of labor, his work attempts to connect symbols of toil and death, often set against a backdrop of an Americana working class identity.

Kyle Kogut was born in Philadelphia, PA in 1990. He received his BFA from Tyler School of Art in 2012. His work has been included in group shows nationally and has had solo exhibitions in Baltimore and Philadelphia. Kogut's work has been published in international publications Juxtapoz Magazine and Studio Visit Magazine.

He is currently pursuing his MFA at MICA in the Mount Royal School of Art interdisciplinary program and will graduate in 2016. Kogut lives in Baltimore, MD.
