Eating banana like a boss! #kyleshuli (at Toronto, Ontario)
Had some discussion in the office about the immigrants in Canada. Still don't know how they jumped from topic of soccer to dog walking to this though. It is about should immigrants assimilate into the country and be part of it or should they keep their tradition and don't do any change. As a first generation of Chinese immigrant, I have been seeing lots of Chinese are keeping themselves in their own bubble, they don't even speak English at all, they don't want to embrace the culture. That is pathetic. On the other side the country are welcoming variety of culture and language to Canada, you can see all signs on the street are in the major language of this community, teller in bank doesn't speak fluent English, etc. It looks like it is the country who indulges what happens right now to the immigrants, but the country is confident of their educational system which can cultivate the next generations to be true Canadians who can contribute to the country in the future. I am the type of person that have been trying to assimilate into the native community and embrace the culture, it is hard to be honest because sometimes you won't be yourself and won't be able to keep it real. But it doesn't stop me to keep this journey going and you will see the light at the end of the tunnel. Because I also know this is a nation built by the Immigrants and we are all united. Happy Canada day. #kyleshuli is #canadian #canadaday
