I'll give you a freebie a little bit earlier since tomorrow I would be unable to share new Critical Role art.
The first boss the Mighty Nein (technically not yet) encountered was this toad like fiend called Kylre (along with Toya which had an important Stockolm syndrome).
I wasn’t going to really participate in any drawtober this year, didn’t think I could keep up, but then I remembered that the spirit of this whole thing is to encourage and inspire art and was, in fact, not a competition. So I thought I’d go back to my roots and draw some monsters. Don’t know how many I’ll do, but I thought I’d draw some of the custom boss monsters in Critical Role.
Starting of with Toya and the Devil Toad/Kylre, the Nergaliid. I wanted to take a departure from the more squishy designs I’ve seen and instead based him off of horntoads, I figure if he was passing himself off as a Lizardman he could do with some spikes
i’m sad that molly never got the answer to why kylre suddenly turned on their circus family. :<
"We Found Our Voices Together”
When you come to the end, the best place to go is back to the beginning.
So this is the bigger thing I was working on that I mentioned before that took me longer then I would have liked to finish. After Episode 26 I decided to go back and rewatch the second campaign from the beginning while focusing entirely on Molly or anything mentioning Molly. The conversation with Toya caught my attention so I decided to draw a pre-campaign start picture of Toya, Kylre, and Mollymauk together in a more relaxed setting.
I kind of wanted to show what I think might have been The Coats origins because it wouldn’t surprise me at all if any or all of his clothing used to be tapestries, especially after his supportive reaction to Jester’s idea of turning a circus tent into many pretty dresses. Reacting to the idea like it was a personal compliment.
Speaking on the coat...I know I should have added more to it but on one hand I wouldn’t doubt Molly to add onto what it was originally when turning it into a coat...on the other...with my hand tremor it was killing me. I did my best lol

Warmed up this morning with Kylre and Toya, NPC’s in the Dungeons and Dragons show Critical Role. When Matt described a 'devil toad' that was also a 'corpulent lizardfolk', this is what my mind went to: Shringasaurus with toady legs and poison glands.
Cheers, folks!

Look, I’m gonna be honest: Toya and Kylre are a great trope. I love them. I love them even more if she turns out to be a hag and comes to kill Beau, but you know. Good trope either way.
