It was almost midnight by the time the teen returned home, heaving and trying to catch his breath. He ran the entire way.
He was quiet as he closed the door and locked it for the night, a heavy sigh leaving his lips while he approached the bedroom and set the package on the floor outside, and knocked.
A note was attached:
[Found out it's your birthday! Sorry I didn't say anything earlier, so here's a gift to make up for that. Regardless, I hope it was a good one.]
--Kyohi
Inside the wrapping was what appeared to be a handmade box(store bought, though), holding various items.
A new dog whistle that was made specifically so it wouldn't harm their ears, and dog treats.
A new scarf and hat, matching--autumn was coming.
A book, a recommendation for his father. Most likely not one filled with smut, but Kyohi liked it and he hoped Kakashi would too.
He went back to his bedroom, deciding to let Kakashi look through everything without an audience.
The day had been remarkably relaxing and far more than Kakashi had even expected to receive. He was grateful, albeit reluctant, to indulge in this swarm of newfound attention. It was his first birthday married, and with his son in his company as well. When Kyohi had failed to turn up at his usual time, Kakashi had thought nothing of it--figuring he was out bonding with the other students of Konoha or smoothing the edges of his training.
Iruka had nudged him toward the door after the small knock, and so Kakashi had ventured there to discover the box left for him. The items had been thoughtful, and were in fact in good taste. He was already thumbing through the book curiously, scarf about his neck and hat over his messy, recently washed hair as he walked down the hall towards his son's bedroom.
His knuckles tap the door. "Thanks for the care package. Come morning you should offer those treats to the ninken, just...be ready for the drool."
