this is patron!kyuuuu! i laughed so hard at your answer ajdjshhfjd thank you! i figured it would be something from the show bc i've recognized a bunch of French books haha. personally i love Russian literature (dostoyevsky whore, personally i'm saving up rn to make you do an ep on crime and punishment) but i will unironically recommend jrr tolkien's translation of beowulf because of RJ's joke answer. :) i don't necessarily think it's better or anything i just think it's hilarious clout to be like "oh, tolkien? you mean the guy who translated beowulf?"

Tolkien loved Beowulf and that whole jazz so much he screamed at his students in Ye Olde English on the first day of class bc he was both nuts and a total fucking nerd.
