run with the wind ep. v ➤ the ones not chosen
Kill! Zone Episode One: The Trek Begins
Game: Doom II Year: 1996 Source Port: Any Specs: MAP01-MAP07 Gameplay Mods: None Author: Don Howard idgames | doomwiki | onemandoom
Seven huge-ass levels from 1996. The less challenging combat design is counterbalanced by ‘90s-style exploration and puzzle play so this is more recommended for folks who have stuff like Eternal Doom, Jim Flynn, and Bob Evans in their blood. Or, for that matter, Paul Schmitz, who also went on with Don to contribute to Daedalus: Alien Defence.

When it came to the Joker and Harley, Anton was relatively safe. When it came to the throng of people affected by the noxious green gas, however, he was in trouble. It wouldn’t be too difficult to protect himself from their ravenous maws, but he had an image to uphold. He was playing a game and if he revealed his cards too soon it would be all over for him. So as one of the gaseous zombies rushed towards him, he threw his wine glass at their head, letting it shatter against their skull as he flipped his chair over, using it as a shield of sorts. He ushered the horde back, looking nothing short of a circus lion tamer, as he made his way towards an exit.
The doors were still closed, but he made quick work of them with a swift kick to their center; as the Antichrist, he was able to channel a spiritual strength. No, he wasn’t the physically strongest being alive, but he was granted enough power. Enough power to escape the clutches of blood thirsty maniacs - blessings be to Him. Anton slipped out of the building and into the fray of the protestors and hyenas alike. “Un-fucking-believable,” he hissed to himself, thick brows furrowed in a frustrated scowl. Another mindless corpse bent on tearing everyone limb from limb charged him, but he managed to side step, causing the infected to collide with the rest of the swarm.
They grabbed at his jacket, pulling him to and fro, clawing at his arms thirsty to break bone. Anton elbowed one in the throat, kicked another in the groin and landed a solid punch to someone’s nose, but because of the numerous amount of witnessess, he couldn’t bring forth Hellfire, as much as the power twitched beneath his skin. His hairs were on end, but he didn’t see it coming - a protestor, either mad from the gas or their own passion, thrust a knife into Anton’s rib cage. The pain was excruciating, and despite knowing it’ll heal on its own rather quickly, he couldn’t breathe and was pinned between protestors, jacket askew, tie tightening around his neck.
Fire burned in his eyes and his teeth grew long. It was either fight and expose himself, ruin everything he’s worked for, or die by the hands of fucking mortals. Coming back to life was always such a pain in the ass, and he’d rather not have to go through that again.
