Everyone was sure Light Yagami was going to be sorted into Ravenclaw but the hat declared Slytherin! before it even touched his head.

Everyone was surprised when the skinny, pale kid with the dark, sunken eyes got Slytherin. His appearance just screamed Hufflepuff.

Light’s favorite class is DADA. He is especially interested in the dark arts themselves. They’re just so intriguing…

L favors Potions. He loves playing around with the ingredients; in fact, he’s been disciplined multiple times for eating them.

Light is always dressed to the nines in his dress robes and green and silver tie. A couple times, he’s been mistaken for a professor.

L prefers black pants with his white dress shirt untucked and the top several buttons undone. He wears the tie to show his house but the knot is sloppy and hangs loosly.

Light is Slytherin’s Seeker. He loves the one-on-one rivalry of the position and his speed and precision have won many a Quidditch match.

L is a Beater and his lightning fast decision-making and surprisingly strong arm make him one of the best Hogwarts has ever seen.

Light has an owl and L has a frog.

Both boys earn a perfect score on the O.W.L.S., completely shattering the ongoing bets as to who would beat who. Once, Light pranked L with Bertie Botts Every Flavored Beans. It ended with the Slytherin common room in shambles and both young wizards needing medical attention. They play wizards chess together from time to time, L’s chair surrounded by empty chocolate frog boxes.
