It was late as Remus stood by the entrance to the common room, eyes lifting at the sight of a familiar face. On the outside, visible marks from a full moon just days ago still lingered: bruises, a bandaged wrist and heavy bags under his eyes. And yet, any lingering exhaustion paled when he grinned, an unyielding expression.
“Are you ready?”
“I’m not sure how this works but I brought snacks just in case.” At the words he flashed a box of multicolored beans from his pocket with a serious nod. “Best to be prepared for anything.”
