The l'Cie (ルシ, ruShi?) [ləˈsiː] (pronounced "luh-see") are beings, usually humans, "branded" by divine entities and given great physical and magical power, as well as a Focus to fulfill; fulfilling one's Focus has the l'Cie enter crystal stasis, whereupon the l'Cie's soul is trapped in the mortal realm as a crystal epitaph. l'Cie in stasis are thus not truly dead, are said to dream, and can still be restored to normal under certain conditions. Fulfilling one's given Focus is not the only way for a l'Cie to enter crystal stasis; it can also be be done via the l'Cie's own strength of will. Some view crystal stasis as a type of immortality.

Inktobertale 21 In Your Favorite Game and By the Beach

After doing a poll on my instagram (because I can never pick shit on my own) the game I went with was Final Fantasy 13! So I made Ink a l’cie cause I think the mark would work in place of his cute little ink splotch. And the “by the beach” part I went with the fireworks scene~ And I tried to redesign him as square enix as I could so there’s that too

 Replaying Final Fantasy XIII and in retrospect, it is pretty surprising how well Hope took the whole l’Cie thing, when you consider that despite his initial freak out, his brand didn’t show any signs of advancing more than the other’s; The Sanctum’s military, however, turned into Cie’th not long after Anima branded them.

 Hope took being made a l’Cie better than the Sanctum soldiers, and that was before his character development.
