A simp is a person who does way too much for a person they like, and that's not these two. Screamer would be a simp. Hunter and Smoker are just awkward idiots. Their friends make fun of them a bit but it's nothing like being unable to hold hands in public. They're just both incredibly bad at expressing feelings and haven't found their groove.

I don't have homophobia in the left 4 cyberpunk universe because it's a feel good found family au. In universe the explanation is that there's been an apocalypse and people have bigger problems. Creator reason is I experience enough day-to-day shittiness and I don't want to put that into something I made.
