One of the things I loved about Agatha All Along was not only was Rio latina (I'm part Mexican on my Dad's side) but she also heavily drew on Santa Muerta (Holy Death) for her visuals.
(The different color cloaks represent different aspects of Santa Muerta like red for justice ect.)
My headcannon is that Agatha was in South America doing some hijinks when she encountered Rio. Agatha attempted to do a divination con and claimed she could get a favor from Santa Muerta, but at a price. To prank/teach Agatha a lesson, Rio actually shows up and scares away the people Agatha was trying to rip off. To Rio's surprise not only is Agatha not scared of her, but Agatha tries to flirt with Rio. Agatha's pick up lines are in pretty poor Spanish, but it gets Rio to laugh and they end up falling for one another. The only lesson Agatha learns is that one needs to have the people she is conning pay up front incase something unexpected happens.
History & Synopsis The Coffinverse is a fictional “shared universe” where the stories of Coffin Comics take place. Events in one title have repercussions in another title. Strongly rooted in the real world Earth with a supernatural slant, the Coffinverse has all the same properties of the real one.
