Arbeiter von Wien - Slovak translation (slovenský preklad, Robotníci Viedne / Viedenskí robotníci)
Arbeiter von Wien is a beautiful song that I absolutely adore, but there seems to be a criminal lack of localized versions of the text. As a speaker of standard Slovak, I undertook the responsibility of creating a translation of the text that rhymes and makes sense while trying not to deviate too much from the message of the song.
While I am familiarized with some basics, I am not a fluent speaker of German, so I had to rely on translation services to understand the meaning of the text. The original text is by Fritz Brügel. I am unaware whether some kind of estate still holds the rights to the song, but if within my legal abilities, I relinquish the rights to my translation and put it in the public domain, meaning anybody is allowed to use this translation for any purpose at all within local legal limits.
Stavebníkmi budúcnosti sme my, sme semeno, pluh a rozsievači. Sme žencami svetovej úrody, sme pravda, zajtrajšok, čin a skutky.
Tak leť, ty plamenná, červená vlajka, dráhu prezraď bojovníkom. Sme verní ľudstvu a budúcnosti, sme viedenským robotníkom.
Tak leť, ty plamenná, červená vlajka, dráhu prezraď bojovníkom. Sme verní ľudstvu a budúcnosti, sme viedenským robotníkom.
Páni sveta a vládci tovární, skúste utláčať keď ste zvrhnutí! Bo sme armáda ľudskej slobody, lámeme klietky, mreže, okovy!
Tak leť, ty plamenná, červená vlajka, dráhu prezraď bojovníkom. Sme verní ľudstvu a budúcnosti, sme viedenským robotníkom.
Tak leť, ty plamenná, červená vlajka, dráhu prezraď bojovníkom. Sme verní ľudstvu a budúcnosti, sme viedenským robotníkom.
Kým navôkol nás urážlivé lži, dobývajúc, náš duch sa postaví. My sme vojaci solidarity, pripravte sa na naše výhry!
Tak leť, ty plamenná, červená vlajka, dráhu prezraď bojovníkom. Sme verní ľudstvu a budúcnosti. sme viedenským robotníkom.
Tak leť, ty plamenná, červená vlajka, dráhu prezraď bojovníkom. Sme verní ľudstvu a budúcnosti, sme viedenským robotníkom.
I also undertook the task of making a literal English translation of the Slovak translation itself in case you are curious about the meaning of the lyrics.
The builders of the future are we, we are the seed, the plow and the sowers. We are the reapers of the world's harvest, we are the truth, tomorrow, action and deeds.
So fly, you flaming, red flag, reveal the road to the warriors. We are loyal to humanity and the future, we are the Viennese worker.
So fly, you flaming, red flag, reveal the road to the warriors. We are loyal to humanity and the future, we are the Viennese worker.
Lords of the world and owners of the factories, try to oppress when you are overthrown! Cause we are the army of human freedom, we break cages, bars, shackles!
So fly, you flaming, red flag, reveal the road to the warriors. We are loyal to humanity and the future, we are the Viennese worker.
So fly, you flaming, red flag, reveal the road to the warriors. We are loyal to humanity and the future, we are the Viennese worker.
While around us insulting lies, conquering, our spirit will rise. We are the soldiers of solidarity, ready yourselves for our victories!
So fly, you flaming, red flag, reveal the road to the warriors. We are loyal to humanity and the future, we are the Viennese worker.
So fly, you flaming, red flag, reveal the road to the warriors. We are loyal to humanity and the future, we are the Viennese worker.
I find it funny how two verses accidentally rhymed. Had I put in the elbow grease I might have even been able to make a proper English translation of my proper Slovak translation, but I think there already must be an English translation of Arbeiter von Wien.
I hope this will not be the last song I translate. I don't know where else I would be able to host this, so I am posting it to a new Tumblr first and then I will see if anywhere else is appropriate.

Now you may be asking, "who the heck is the person 2nd from the left?" That is Swimmer, from the Ocean Day update released a while back, however normally she wears a one piece swimsuit, but I wasn't sure how serious the liability is to showing too much skin on this site, so I didn't risk it and gave em a loose shirt and shorts, things you could see people wear on the beach...right? Oh and red eye Vampire, she's so cool! - NA

So I've had this conversation/argument with my ex-fiance and I'm just really curious to know what the usual for this task is (don't worry, he's not in the picture anymore I just really want to know) because this was a place of contention between me and him. I myself am unemployed due to disability and I shower at night.
If you want to provide extra data in the replies/tags please do (Assigned Gender, Job Type, How much of a sweat you work up in your day, etc) because it will add good data to the poll.
Please re-blog to increase data pool.

Considered as little more than human shaped forklifts, dumb brutes, and expendable machines of the factory floor, these laborers were however built tough. Besides their strength, robustness and compulsion to work hard, many unique specimens feature one or more useful traits and skills. Besides the fore mentioned attributes, these bulky, typically metal boned humanoid machines are rugged enough to hold their own in a post-apocalyptic world. They normally appear as males but both genderless and female specimens are also found.
