[Here'sa totally unrelated description to the photo. Although maybe it is.] Yesterday, our artisans had a few visitors. The visitors were NGO workers who were attending a Training on Social Enterprise Development to capacitate them in implementing livelihood projects in their project area. One of them said, "Maupay nala maghinimo hin borloloy imbes nga magchinismis (Being busy by making jewelry is better than doing nothing and talking about nonsense things with others)." I would like to take this opportunity to correct the common misconception that most people have about marginalized women. They are "doing nothing" when they go around and talk to fellow women about their lives and their neighbors. Talking to other women is their sole power when they do not have equal decision-making power in the household and cannot be competitive in the work force. Also, I think everyone is entitled to "do nothing", especially when you do not get compensated for household work that keeps everything together. <Everything ships free from Tacloban to anywhere in the Philippines, each in its own reused (discarded) engineering paper box/bag.> #handmade #kinamot #copper #jewelry #bangle #bracelet #necklace #neckpiece #ring #eco #ecofriendly #sustainablefashion #sustainable #socent #socen #laborfair #womenempowerment #unisex #madeinph #lookingforph #waray #easternvisayas
