Athena could not have been more helpful. I am truly indebted to her. The goddess brought to me a krotala, which is a wooden instrument that when “clapped” creates a monstrous noise. Every bird was shocked by the sound of the krotala, and they all fled. An onlooker managed to capture the flight of the Stymphalian birds on film, and posted it on Iris Videos earlier this morning. It is above for all to view.

Dear goddess Athena, I cannot thank you enough. I will remain right where I am.

I am currently near the small town of Stymphalos, where my next task is to scare off a large flock of birds. I assumed the labour would be simple, but I cannot seem to get rid of the pesky birds. They cannot hear my shouting over their collective cries, which are loud and piercing, unlike anything I have ever heard.

I will not give up, but I have no means of scaring them off. Hmm.. what to do?
