Chapter 2! or, Vargo has Regrets

Okay this won't make sense to anyone but I need to say things about Labrynths Heart.

I'll use a read more so you don't have to read it!

As much as I like Ren, all the finding her family thing felt a little too...Chosen One? Almost? And Grey felt the opposite, like the Anti-Chosen One, but I guess it works for them together.

Vargo continues to be my favourite, and he and Iascat are adorable. Sharing tolasty! Vargo rescuing him! Iascat knowing Vargo doesn't reliably report his own injuries!

I knew Alsius would go. Doesnt mean it wasn't very sad. I'll miss the old man but not as much as Vargo will.

The only way I can make sense of Vargo giving up his enmoblement charter is that Grey told him Arkady is destined to be the Rook, and the Rook can't be a noble, so Arkady can't be inscribed into a register, and Vargo wouldn't just...take it away. So he takes the seat on the Setterat as a reason to give up his charter and not disappoint Arkady. Also means he works with Iascat!

The authors said Grey would get the worse of it in this book...but I think Vargo did again! The man was kidnapped and tortured by his own knot, had his link to his father figure cut, which meant he couldn't heal, then had to say goodbye to his father figure.

(Most of this is about Vargo. Can you tell who my favourite is)

Tess and Pavlin! Also side note love the fact that its a queer normative society, and there's so many trans characters and not a single thing is made of it.

The writing was...convoluted at times. There's a lot of moving points and I don't think all of them got handled especially well. Also the names. There's so many names.
