Behold: An Ermine, The Lacebeast

I know most people associate Lace with sheep, and while that works well visually, Lace didn’t seem to be like how sheep are typically portrayed in behavior for me.
So I thought what’s cute, small, clever, fast, fierce, and able to punch above its weight in the animal kingdom?
I thought of mustelids(weasels, badgers, otters and the like), and landed on the Ermine!
If you have any other ideas on what kind of creature you think Lace is like, I would love to hear!
