i was a bit absent, but i got a new corset!!!!

so, lets talk bout corsets ( today only about pogórze’s corsets, next time maybe more about lachowskie’s ☺️)

damask corsets ( i just got it!!!!) were wear by rich wives or unmarried women (not old ladies) from pogórze zachodnie. (and that's me, sorry for the mess in backround)

later, corsets were sewn from velvet, usually in black, cherry, dark green and navy blue.

near lachy sądeckie started to appear corsets with sequins and beads with flowers motive, for example:

i think that we dont talk enough 'bout men's folk costumes, especially about men's folk costume from lachy sądeckie.

the caftan is richly decorated multicolored embroidery, as are the trousers called „błękicie”. the caftan reached to the knees and had brass buttons. the outfit was usually navy blue, but black or brown versions were also often seen.

because lachy sadeckie region is near Tatry there will also be borrowing from higlanders, for example wide embossed belt. as for the headgear, it is a felt hat with usually a red ribbon or little flowers

i dont know how to use tumblr yet but i like to talk, so:

why everybody that i know, who lives outside my voivodeship (not only, from here too) that is lesser poland, thinks everybody is highlander here.

lesser poland is so wealthy in folklor. we have so many diffrences between our regional costumes. different skirts, corsets, hats and other parts of the outfit. additionally we have different types of dancing, singing and music in general.

i have nothing against highlanders. in fact i love their culture and places near mountains (maybe besides present Zakopane where u pay 10 PLN for the toilet 🙂, ah capitalism) but when u have your own regional folk culture why everyone identifies you with other.

so i live between two different regions. on the west side Lachy Sądeckie and on the est Pogórze. These two regions have a lot of differences so here where i live we have a little mashup. but i love both ❤️
