Mildred sings Jose Feliciano’s La Copa Rota
Growing up, these were the songs that rung from my mother’s record player. They have given love and texture to everything I have become. My voice comes from my mother’s side of the family, even though my father has also become a singer as of late on his karaoke machine; so for him, I “smule”. My mother was the one; a poet, songwriter, singer who filled every aspect of our lives with music, growing up.
This one is particularly special because Jose Feliciano hails from my parents’ hometown in Puerto Rico; Lares.
