jokes aside obviously shes been my goat i go on and off with insanity for her but shes kinda just been my favorite from the start even if im quiet abt her. like her whoole aesthetic appeals to me and i love women with a heavy deepset sadness to them and like sure theres that whole thing in classic where she tells daniil the death wasnt for him but to the changeling she says IT WAS ALL FOR HIM,,,,,, that i have thoughts on and like to ignore (her killing herself for her own fascination for the cathedral and becoming more and being in love with utopianism or whatever is so much more compelling to me, she has her own fascinations to deal with and ADDITIONALLY shes down bad for daniil)
but like. gooood her. i love her spaciness or like, the separation she has from more upsetting things yknow. like the world is hers, she has fun with who she wants to, dresses how she wants to (and a lot of people in the town kind of just respect her as Eva) and when the plague hits i like to think that she still has that attitude, but her world got shrunk to fit in the stillwater and the cathedral out the window, and that gets to her. shes just so like happy in an unsatisfied way too, like her having fun with her life is such a neat blanket over her just. sadness, and when shit starts going bad she remembers that building she's always loved even if its empty. and like, moving to headcanons here (if i havent already) i wonder if she recognizes that emptiness in herself.
IDK i just really enjoy how up-and-down she can be, and when i tell you my heart started burning when i saw her 3 character animation literally just not even hiding that. like she has her perfect smile, looks lost in thought, and then droops completely with just this exhaustion on her face, and then perks back up and smiles again and with that context her smile is even more sad. Its a simple formula but im a simple man baby give me that agony. and i trust 100% ipl will deliver on that agony she already looks like shes getting more depth and a WAY bigger role in the plot and considering the cathedral is apparently important mechanically i know they're gonna hoof kick to the chest for her. like i trust path 3 a lot already, i know they're doing their damndest and what we've seen is already so promising for a demo, but theyve given me specifically more than i expected for eva and i trust her in their hands more than ever. like reignited my fascination for her fully
10/10 getting an eva yan design that beats classic's in 3 was not on my pathologic 3 bingo card but here we are. (not that i dislike 2 honestly i see where they were coming from with it and i kinda fw the vibe even if its not as Eva as classic and APPARENTLY 3). also one of those characters where i want her and want to be her and im completely unable to decide
