Hello! I bought your book Lamcrimore years ago. I knew it was something I would like, but hadn’t read. I haven’t been able to bring myself to read for several years. (SO MANY years; since I’ve been an adult with so many things to do.) I was FINALLY able to start reading again, and I chose Lacrimore first. It took me a couple weeks to get through it, because I wanted to really absorb the prose (and I’m not as good at that anymore). I think this was the best book to choose; it reignited my love of reading. Thank you! It was such a good novel! It had all the gothic themes I was itching for, with a similar prose, but was still readable in a modern way.

Lacrimore is the perfect book to read aloud to friends as you're all sitting out on the grass in the early evening, so thank you!!

Can I just say that one of the things I love most about Lacrimore is that it isn't "Steampunk"? It *really is* a secondary world setting and you took the work to make the clothing and architecture match up.

Ahh, thank you! I'm glad you liked it. I always imagined Lacrimore as a largely pre-industrial setting.

Hopefully the setting for my next story will feel just as fully realized cos it's going to have a wider scope so the worldbuilding will be more at the forefront. I think folks categorizing it as 'steampunk' will probably be inevitable because the main city is this Consuming Industrial Machine that doesn't care a bit about u, but hey!

Hi I just SLAMMED Lacrimore in one sitting and boy was it EXCELLENT. I loved each and every one of the characters--Sivre's searching and Dege's practical kindness deffo my faves but Vandorus's hubris absolutely enthralling--loved how their relationships waxed and waned as they wanted different things from each other, loved the rituals and the richness of the texture and the scenery. There was so much in it for such a short little book! I'm putting it next to Haunting of Hill House on my shelf because it feels like they should be siblings. Very much looking forward to everything you do next!

send help i've had Lacrimore sitting half-read on my bedside table for a month because i don't want to finish it because then it will be done. this book is so good and i want to keep reading it for the first time forever and ever

i got lacrimore a while ago and i’m finally sitting down to read it and not even 10 pages in i’m already so in love with your writing style—all the imagery is so evocative and i can’t get “the foundation of lacrimore was gathered black under her fingernails” out of my head!! absolutely gorgeous writing and i’m extremely excited to continue reading

Dude, I just finished Lacrimore and I adored every second of it. I love the characters, the story, the messages, the hidden little things that I probably overanalyzed, the setting, the world building and everything! One of my favs, looking forward to your other works!
